Lady Lions Lose to York

Despite being down by as many as sixteen points midway through the second quarter, the Penn State Dubois Women's basketball team fought and clawed their way back into the game to take the lead seven minutes into the third quarter only to come up a little short at the end in a nail-biter 54-51 against conference opponent PSU York.  PSUD drops to (5-2) on the season.

PSUD coach Pat Lewis said, "We started the game very poorly.  We had way too many turnovers and couldn't make a shot.  But in the second and third quarters we played the way we are capable of playing."  "In the fourth quarter, we had several opportunities to close out the game but we missed a few shots that we often make."

Melody Young (Otto Eldred) was the only player to finish in double figures for the Lady Lions with 11 points.  Young and Hope Bridge (Punxsutawney) both hauled in 14 rebound and Lauren Young (Bellefonte) grabbed 10.  Dubois outrebounded York 63-38 on the contest but lost the turnover battle.

PSUD return to action tomorrow night December 5, 2017 in a "White Out" game at home as they host western conference rival Penn State Beaver at 6:00.
