(11/17/17)

The Penn State DuBois Women's Basketball team (2-1) traveled to the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville and captured a 76-66 win on Friday night.

The Lady Lions fell behind in the first half and went into the locker room trailing 43-24.  The second half saw a different Lady Lion team take the court and started grinding their way back into the game.  "We felt that the girls stepped it up defensively in the second half and dominated the boards to get us back into the ball game", stated DuBois coach Pat Lewis.  He added, "Pitt-Titusville came out ready to play and we played very sloppy in the first half.  Fortunately, we played up to our abilities in the second half."

The Lady Lions were lead in double figures by Melody Young (Otto Eldred) 20 points and 17 rebounds and Hope Bridge (Punxsutawney) 14 points and 8 rebounds.  Kashius Harris (Beaver Falls) 9 points, Grace Earle (Cowanesque Valley) 7 points and Kristen Williams (Eisenhower) 3 assists all contributed during the comeback.  Morgan Silvis (Forest Area) hauled in 10 rebounds.  Freshmen Lauren Young (Bellefonte), Cierra O'Shell (Glendale), Gracie Hamilton (Northern Potter), Laura Fatula (DuBois HS) and Silvis combined for 24 points and 27 rebounds in the win.

The Lady Lions return to action as they travel to Butler County Community College, Monday, November 20, 2017.  Game time is 5:00.
