The Penn State Dubois Women pulled out a hard-fought win against a talented Westmoreland CCC team by the score of 66-61 to improve to a record of 1-1.

Despite early foul trouble and after numerous lead changes in the first half, PSUD carried a 37-33 lead into half-time, but Westmoreland was never able regain the lead in the second half.  PSUD would extend the lead in the second half by as many as nine points but were unable to put the game away due to turnovers.  "I was very happy with our effort, rebounding and defense tonight.  We had too many turnovers in the second half, so that is an area that we need to work on.  Westmoreland came into the game 3-0 and we knew that they were a very solid team and are well coached, so this is a good win.", stated coach Pat Lewis.

Three players finished in double figures for the Lions as Kristen Williams (Eisenhower) finished with 18 points, Morgan Silvis (Forest Area) 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Kashius Harris (Beaver Falls) 10 points.  Hope Bridge (Punxustawney) hauled in a team high 13 rebounds.

PSUD returns to action on Friday, November 17, 2017 as they travel to Titusville to take on the University of Pitt at Titusville.  The game has a 5:00 start.
