Comeback Win for the DuBois Lady Lions

The Penn State DuBois women's basketball team (6-2), responded after PSU York held an 8 point lead after three quarters of the game, and used a strong fourth quarter with balanced scoring on Saturday to pick up a home win by defeating conference member Penn State York by the score of 62-56.

Trailing 51-43 at the end of three, the DuBois Lady Lions came out with an aggressive defense and hot shooting to pull off the hard-fought victory. Back to back buckets by Kashius Harris (Beaver Falls) gave PSUD the lead and clutch foul shooting by Kristen Williams (Eisenhower) and Kristy Hanes (Elk County) sealed the victory.

Three different players hit for double figures in the game to secure the win. Harris led all PSUD scorers with 12 points. Joining her in double figures were both Hope Bridge (Punxsutawney) and Hanes with 10 points apiece.

"The girls are playing as a team right now and they have all stepped up to contribute." commented DuBois head coach, Pat Lewis. " We would like to qualify for the PSUAC playoffs this year and we are headed in the right direction."

The Lady Lions return to action Tuesday, December 6th as they travel to Penn State Beaver for a conference match-up with a tip-off at 6:00 pm.
