DuBois Lady Lions Grab Conference Win

The Penn State DuBois women's basketball team picked up a conference win as they topped Penn State Mont Alto, 75-61 on Friday night.

The Lady Lions held a slim 36-35 halftime lead but in the second half PSUD took control of the game, outscoring Mont Alto 38-25 to secure the win. "I felt that the girls really stepped it up defensively tonight and we controlled the tempo of the game by controlling the boards. We played a team that was much improved over last year and we were happy to start the conference schedule with a win," stated DuBois coach Pat Lewis.

The Lady Lions were lead in double figures by Hope Bridge (Punxsutawney) as she scored a career high of 24 points and Kristen Williams (Eisenhower) who connected for 10 points. Juli Vokes (Brockway) and Melody Young (Otto Eldred) hauled in a team high 9 rebounds each. Ashley Brown (Otto Eldred) chipped in 8 points and 6 assists. Kristy Hanes (Elk County) and Grace Earle (Cowanesque Valley) both grabbed 8 rebounds while Kashius Harris (Beaver Falls) tallied 8 points and 7 rebounds.
