In a game that saw twelve lead changes, the Penn State Dubois Women pulled out a hard fought win against a talented Westmoreland CCC team by the score of 60-59 to improve to a record of 2-1.

PSUD carried a 29-28 lead into half-time despite early foul trouble, but Westmoreland took the lead in the third quarter and stretched it to as many as nine points before the Lady Lions closed the gap to five points on baskets by Kashius Harris (Beaver Falls), Juli Vokes (Brockway), and Grace Earle (Cowanesque Valley) to end the quarter.

The fourth quarter saw five different players score as Melody Young (Otto Eldred), Kristen Williams (Eisenhower), Kaelyn Gruver (Redbank Valley), Ashley Brown (Otto Eldred) and Hope Bridge (Punxsutawney) all put points on the board while Kristy Hanes (Elk County) hauled in two huge defensive rebounds. With the game tied 59-59 and only four seconds left, Williams was fouled and sank her first foul shot to give the Lady Lions the 60-59 victory.

Three players finished in double figures for the Lions as Earle, Gruver, and Williams all finished with 10 points each. Vokes hauled in a team high 8 rebounds.

PSUD returns to action on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 as they travel to Elyria, Ohio to take on Lorain County Community College. The game has a 6:00 start.
