The Penn State DuBois women’s basketball team picked up its third win in a row

DuBois Lady Lions Win At Home

The Penn State DuBois women's basketball team (5-7) picked up its third win in a row as they topped Penn State Greater Allegany, 74-57 on Wednesday night.  PSUD improves to (2-3) in the PSUAC.

The Lady Lions jumped out to a 37-22 halftime lead and never let the lead drop below 10 points in the second half to secure the win.  "I felt that the girls really stepped it up defensively tonight and we really controlled the tempo of the game by controlling the boards." stated DuBois coach Pat Lewis.

The Lady Lions were lead by Kristy Hanes (Elk County) as she scored 13 point and Kaelyn Gruver (Redbank Valley) followed with 12 points and 7 rebounds.  Grace Earle (Cowanesque Valley) recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

A host of other players played key rolls in the win.  Melody Young (Otto Eldred) hauled in 8 rebounds and scored 8 points while Juli Vokes (Brockway) scored 9 and Latascia Shadle (Galeton) and Ashley Brown (Otto Eldred) hit for 8 and 7 points respectively.

The Lady Lions return to action as they host the Penn State Brandywine, Friday, January 15, 2016.  Game time is 6:00.
