PSU DuBois Falls To Penn State Beaver

The PSU DuBois Lady Lions (2-4) dropped an 84-61 decision to defending USCAA National Champion and PSUAC foe PSU Beaver on Tuesday.  Beaver jumped out to a commanding lead, 22-4 in the first eight minutes of the ball game.  But the Penn State DuBois countered with a dominating run of their own by outscoring Beaver 25-8 over the next ten minutes making the score 30-29 a minute before halftime.   After halftime, DuBois' early second half turnovers and Beaver's shooting improved to help Beaver pull away from the DuBois squad in the second half.

PSUD was lead by Melody Young (Otto Eldred) hitting for a career high with 15 points and 7 rebounds, while Kaelyn Gruver (Redbank Valley) chipped in 9 points and 15 rebounds.  Other notable contributions came from Latascia Shadle (Galeton) and Kristy Hanes (Elk County) both registering double figures with 10 points each. Ashley Brown (Otto Eldred) also hauled in 10 rebounds.

PSUD returns to action on Saturday, December 5, 2015 as they travel to Penn State Hazleton with a 1:00 p.m. tip-off.
