PSUD Women Drop First Game of Season

The Penn State DuBois women's basketball team received their first loss of the young season, dropping an 87-46 decision to Butler County Community College Tuesday night.

The Lady Lions came out of the locker room to start the game and couldn't buy a basket as they started the game missing their first 25 shots and went 1-27 from the field in the first quarter.  "I have coached basketball for a thirty-nine years and I can honestly say that I have never seen anything quite like it.  We had great looks, but couldn't put the ball in the basket", stated PSUD coach Pat Lewis.  BC3 took advantage of the poor shooting and built a 49-18 first half lead.

Although the second half saw a slight improvement for the Lady Lions, the first half shooting drought left the DuBois squad playing catch up the rest of the game.  "BC3 played a very good game, shot lights out, and are well coached.  Combined with them playing well and us having one of those nights where we couldn't make a shot, the writing was on the wall", added Lewis.

The PSUD squad returns to action as they travel to Buffalo, NY on Friday night to take on Villa Maria College with a 7:30 tip-off.  On Saturday, they will play Niagara County Community College at 1:00.
