PSUD Women Lose Season Opener

The Penn State DuBois women's basketball team dropped their first game of the 2013-14 season to Pitt Titusville (73-69) on Monday night in DuBois.  The game was tied at 32 at the half and saw seven lead changes in the second half before Titusville pulled ahead by the final four-point margin.

PSUD was lead by Kiley Lewis' (Cameron County) double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds.  Mary Pillot's (Bald Eagle Area) 14 points was joined by three other players in double figures, Chelsea Szakal (Monessen) 12 points and 7 rebounds, Jordan Fairman (Dubois Area) 11 points and 8 rebounds and Lewis.

Ashley Brown (Otto Eldred) hauled in 11 rebounds, handed out 5 assists, and added 8 points.  Patience McCullough (Purchase Line) hauled in 10 rebounds, while Juli Vokes (Brockway) hit for 6 points and Linsey Mizic handed out 2 assists.

"I'm happy with how we played with this being our first game of the season.  This was Pitt Titusville's fifth game of the season and it showed at the end", stated PSUD coach Pat Lewis.  "We dominated the boards 57-30 but we had way too many turnovers.  That is something that we will work on and hopefully improve upon as the season progresses."

The PSUD women return to action as they travel to Potomac State College in Kyser, WV on Friday with a 6:00 p.m. tip-off.
