Comeback Win for the DuBois Lady Lions

The Penn State DuBois women's basketball team (3-5) used a strong second half and balanced scoring on Friday to defeat CCAC-Boyce (7-3) by the score of 78-76.  PSUD avenged an 81-59 decision to Boyce earlier this season.

Trailing 30-11 ten minutes into the game and 36-31 at halftime, the DuBois Lady Lions came out of the locker with an aggressive defense and hot shooting to pull off the hard fought win.  Four different players hit for double figures in the game to secure the win.

Karly Carnovale (Elk County) came out with a hot hand as she tied a school record of 30 points in the game (22 points came in the second half).  Joining her in double figures were Jordan Fairman (DuBois HS) 16, Kiley Lewis (Cameron County) 15 points and 7 rebounds, and Patience McCullough (Purchase Line) 14 points and 10 rebounds.  Karlee Cyphert (North Clarion) hauled in 10 rebounds and dished out 9 assists while Linsey Mizic (Pottsgrove HS) passed out another 3 assists in the contest.

"The girls are playing as a team right now and they have all accepted the roles that best suit their abilities." commented DuBois head coach, Pat Lewis.  " We would like to qualify for the PSUAC playoffs again this year and we are headed in the right direction."

The Lady Lions return to action January 3rd as they travel to league rival PSU Brandywine at 2:00 pm.
