Basketball teams sweep final games of the semester

PSU DuBois Lady Lions Win

 The Penn State DuBois Lady Lion Basketball team defeated Central Pennsylvania College by the score of 79-53.  The win returned the Lady Lions to .500 for the season as they enter the winter break at 7-7.

DuBois built a 16 point lead heading into the half, 34-18.  The Lady Lions came out of the locker room hot and quickly added to their lead as Kelsey Rini (East Forest) scored the first 8 points of the second half to open the lead to 43-18.  DuBois then continued to force the pace of the game and cruised to a 79-53 win.

Rini finished with a double-double, 22 points and 13 rebounds.  She was joined in double figures by Tessa Vargas (Sheffield) 15 points and Missy Aul (St.Marys) 11 points.  Karlee Cyphert (North Clarion) handed out 10 assists to go along with her 8 points.

"We have won 4 of our last 5 games heading into the break.  The seven wins match our win total from last season and we are excited to continue to add to that total during the second semester." said DuBois coach Pat Lewis.

The Lady Lions return to action January 15, 2011 at home against Penn State Wilkes-Barre.
