Softball Season Ends

The Penn State DuBois softball team took on Carlow University this afternoon in a USCAA World Series elimination game.  DuBois got on the board first as Laura Fatula (DuBois) hit an RBI double that scored Makenzie Lukehart (Glendale).  From there however, Carlow put up 7 runs in the first 2 innings to take an early 7-2 lead.  DuBois kept scrapping throughout the entire game, but in the end Carlow pulled out the 12-4 victory to move on, and to close the season for DuBois.

Hitting – Third baseman, Samantha Satterlee had 2 of her team's RBI's on 2 hits.  Fatula and Brooke Harvey (Northwest) had the only other 2 RBI's for DuBois.

PitchingLizzy Scott (West Branch) got the start on the mound for DuBois.  Scott allowed only 2 earned runs in 2 innings, faced 17 batters, and gave up 7 hits.  Harvey came in for relief in the 3rd inning, gave up 4 runs on 4 hits, and faced 14 batters.

This record breaking season for the Lady Lions not only saw them make the PSUAC playoffs for the first time in program history, but also saw them earn their way into the PSUAC Championship game.  As a result of their conference success, they were also selected to play in the USCAA Small College World Series for the first time in program history.
