Penn State DuBois is excited to announce that Kayleigh MacTavish, West Branch High School, has decided to continue her academic and athletic softball career at Penn State DuBois beginning in the fall of 2018. A member of the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Kayleigh has received the Excellence in Accounting Award and is an honor roll student.

A three-year starter, Kayleigh has been named all-conference all three years, 2nd team All-State her freshman year and first team All-State her junior year. Kayleigh has ended each season with a batting average greater than .400 and her .478 average last year was good for 3rd in the area. She ended her junior season with 11 multi-hit games and she has combined for 22 stolen bases in her sophomore and junior seasons.

Penn State DuBois Head Softball Coach Jason Kern says MacTavish bolsters an already strong 2018 recruiting class. "We want to build the team with speed, power and athleticism. Kayleigh brings all three of those tools to the program. She has the speed to play in a big Outfield with a turf surface, speed to have double digit steals in a season, athleticism to move to catcher and she has the power at the plate to drive in runs. Kayleigh will be vital to this program's success in the near future and above all, I know she will be successful in the classroom."
