Hopeful Start For Men's Basketball

Hopeful Start For Men's Basketball

The Penn State DuBois Men's basketball team kicked off their season Saturday afternoon as they travelled to Grove City College.  After having the season cancelled last year the team, who only has 3 returners from the last time DuBois played a game was ready to get the game going.

A rusty start from the field including 1-11 from the 3 point line in the first half had DuBois down going into the half.  A big turn around though as DuBois collected themselves in the locker room and they came out in the 2nd half swinging.

Both the offense and defense picked up for the Lions as they shot 42% from the 3 point line, and held Grove City to 0-6 from the 3 point line, and only 28% from the field.  The Lions also forced 24 turnovers from the opposition.

Sophomore Jaiquil Johnson led DuBois with 13 points, and grabbed 5 steals to help the cause.  Junior Zayver Craft grabbed 8 rebounds.

DuBois will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Penn State Shenango for an 8:00pm tip.
