In the second game in as many days, PSUD Men's basketball came away with a 90-87 win over visiting PSU Schuylkill. Schuylkill, who didn't play the night before lead 13-11 6 minutes into the game. PSUD looked to find their legs after winning against PSU Hazleton the night before. Both sides would battle for the rest of the first half, at the buzzer freshman PG Kendrick Maye (Woodbridge,VA) would nail a pull up 3 point shot that Steph Curry would be proud of.

 

The second half saw the same battle, with 6:08 on the clock PSUD held the score at 78-75. Over the next 1:48 PSUD put on a run to take the biggest lead of the game 85-75. After a timeout by Schuylkill, the away team turned up the defensive energy to get back to 85-83 with 2:04 left in the game. PSUD would not give up the lead and close the game on the free throw line to seal the big PSUAC win.

 

The Foradora Insurance Player of the Game was DJ Hopkins (Huntingtown,MD) with 18 points, 8-10 shooting, 8 rebounds, and 4 assist from the forward position. Tristan Pierce (Lancaster,OH) lead Dubois in scoring with 27, Dylan Huey (Punxsutawney,PA) looked at almost 100 percent healthy again scoring 16 points.

 

As a team, PSUD shot 53 percent from the field, 61.1% from the 3 point line (11-18), and handed out 21 assists.

 

With the win PSUD improves to 6-4 in the PSUAC which puts them in the 5 spot. The top 6 places will make the PSUAC Playoffs which are set to begin Feb 14th.

 

PSUD returns to action Tuesday night at Penn State Beaver.
