Battled, But Men Fall Short on Road

Penn State Mont Alto battled its way to a 76-72 win over Penn State DuBois on Friday evening. Both teams controlled the game on the defensive end making the pressure on Mont Alto to convert at the free throw line to finish the game. Mont Alto used a strong first half out-scoring PSUD 35-26. The home team opened the game on an 18-4, after a timeout by PSUD a pair of 3's by Jake Perrin (Brockway,PA) and Aaron Krzyzewski (Long Island,NY) helped spark a 15-0 run of it's own. PSUD took it's first lead of the game at 19-18 with 8:15 left in the first half. Mont Alto answered ending the half on a 17-7 run to take the lead into the locker room.

Mont Alto would push the lead to double digits in the second half before PSUD would get the lead down to 2 with 3:27 left in the contest. Tristan Pierce (Lancaster,OH) and Dylan Huey (Punxsutawney,PA) combined for 20 second half points but this wasn't enough to get PSUD over the hump for the victory as Mont Alto would hit 7 of there final 8 free throws.
