PSUD Men use Century Mark on Senior Night to edge PSU Beaver 100-93

On Tuesday night, the Multi Purpose Building [located at the Dubois campus] played host to the opposing lions of Beaver Falls, PA. Before the game two Dubois players were recognized. First, Tristan Peirce (Lancaster, OH) was acknowledged for reaching 1,000 career points. Secondly, Dubois senior, Sam Roselli (Ridgway, PA) was honored for Senior Night. Sam was presented his game jersey for which he wore the last three years. Sam has become an accomplished young man over these past four years, both on and off the court. He has amassed a number of honors/awards during his time at Dubois. Sam received recognition from both the PSUAC & USCAA.

Dubois entered the game 6-6 in the PSUAC fighting for a much needed win to keep their playoff hopes alive. After much anticipation, both teams hit the hardwood running. A bucket from Logan Pearce lifted Dubois to a three point lead five minutes into the first half. Beaver then answered with a 14-2 run led by Alleyne and Austin. Ten minutes left in the first half, Dubois was down 9, 25-16. Both teams were able to match each other as Beaver was able to hold on to the lead. Score was 38-30 with five minutes left in the half. A three pointer from Tristan Pierce brought Dubois within 6 going into halftime.

Dubois started the second half charging bringing the game to one of its thirteen ties, 56 all. A knocked down shot from beyond the arc by Austin brought Beaver within three with ten minutes remaining. With 5 minutes left in the game, Dubois was able to take the last of seven lead changes as they held out to win 100-93 over Beaver. Notable players for Dubois were: Roselli 22 & 10, Pierce 22, Reynolds 16, Aucker 11, Boyd 9, Pearce 8, Perrin 7. Dubois ended the game with 32 bench points moving to 7-6 in the PSUAC.

PSUD Men travel to PSU New Kensington on Saturday, January 4. Tip is set for 3:00.
