Men's Hoops Win at Home

Penn State DuBois men welcomed Butler County Community College to campus Tuesday night, PSUD started the contest in a way they have been searching for the last few games. BCCC won the jump ball, an intense half-court defense stand from PSUD led to a turnover. PSUD then continued their first possession with three offensive rebounds, this trend continued for the remainder of the game as PSUD came away with a 79-69 win. PSUD was able to snag 16 offensive rebounds to BCCC's 5, PSUD also forced BCCC to commit 17 turnovers.

The first half remained with many lead changes until the 10:46 mark when Jesse Reynolds (Ridgway/Ridgway,Pa) made a jump shot sparking a 9-0 run over a 1:44 of time. After two free throws from BCCC, PSUD would go on another big run. With the score at 24-16 with 9 minutes left in the half, Logan Pearce (Penns Valley/Centre Hall,Pa) made a pull up jumper followed with a 3 pointer, Sam Roselli (Ridgway/Ridgway,Pa) added two baskets of his, and finishing the run was Dane Aucker (Dubois Central Catholic/DuBois,Pa) with a deep 3 that pushed PSUD's lead to 38-20 with 4:33 left to play in the half.

PSUD would not give the lead to BCCC at any point in the second half. They continued the defensive pressure and the dominating rebounding effort keep the momentum in their favor. Again half way through the half PSUD would go on a run to make things more comfortable. At the 10:25 mark with the score tied at 55, Tristan Pierce (Lancaster/Lancaster OH) started a 12-0 run with a 3 point field goal for PSUD. The rest of the way PSUD would work the ball taking time off the clock every possession and went 4-4 from the charity stripe to seal the win.

Sam Roselli lead all scorers with 21, he also added 9 rebounds and 2 steals. Tristan Pierce and Dane Aucker both chipped in with 14 points, while Jesse Reynolds added 7 points and 7 rebounds.

Penn State DuBois will open up PSUAC conference play at home on Tuesday November 29 at 8pm.
