PSUD Men Run to 16 point win

On Wednesday night the weather in DuBois Pennsylvania  was messy and chilly. The PSUD men's basketball team warmed up the nets by shooting 46.2% from 3 and 85.7% from the free throw. The hot shooting led to a 88-72 win over visiting Penn State Greater Allegheny. PSUD seemed to get their legs back after a tough 5 games in 7 stretch the previous week. PSUD built a steady lead though out the first half, pushing the lead to as many as 20 before a halftime score of 45-30 in favor of PSUD. Once again PSUD used a full court pressure defense and transition basketball to force PSU GA into tough shots. PSU GA shot 28.6% from 3 and 57.1% from the free throw line.

The second half both teams traded buckets as PSU GA seemed to adjust to the pressure cutting the lead down to 9 on two different occasions. PSUD managed to bend but not break, getting key baskets to keep the lead near double digits. PSUD managed to control the ball and make free throws to close out the victory. PSUD was 7-12 from 3 and 8-9 from the free throw line in the second half. PSUD's Tristan Pierce (Lancaster,OH/Lancaster) led all scorers with 25 points. Sam Roselli (Ridgway,PA/Ridgway) 15 points, Derrick (Nooch) Williams (Philadelphia, PA/Frankling Learning Center) 15 points, and Dante Carillo (San Elizario,TX/San Elizario) 13 points all chipped in for a good team win.

When asked about the second semester Head Coach Dylan Howard stated "we started the second semester with a  brutal schedule, I am very pleased to start it 4-2. We added new guys this semester, I didn't expect us to gel so quickly but the guys have done a great job communicating and playing to each other's strengths."

PSUD continues a tough second semester schedule Saturday at PSU Lehigh Valley and Sunday at PSU Hazleton.
