Jan. 12, 2013

Coach Dave Bennett's men's basketball team battled back from an early 16 point deficit to earn a hard fought 58-54 point victory over visiting PSU Wilkes-Barre on Saturday afternoon.  Wilkes-Barre open the game with good intensity, hot shooting, and controlled the boards to stake a 23-7 lead seven minutes into the game, but DuBois chipped away and cut the deficit to 9 point heading to the intermission.

The second half DuBois turned up the defensive pressure and ran the floor better, starting the half on a 17 – 7 run to take their first lead of the game 39-38 with just under 12 minutes left in the game.  Having big second halves for DuBois were John Hau, Kia Ahmad, and Kyle Mills.  Hau finished with a game high 15 points while Ahmad added 14 and Kyle Mills scored all 7 of his points in the second half.  The score was knotted at 49 with 3:30 minutes to play; scoring big in the last 3 minutes was John Hau with 2 put back shots and a free throw.

DuBois will travel on Wednesday, Jan. 16th to take on Western Division rival Beaver at 8pm.  Beaver defeated DuBois 89-77 on December 5th in their first meeting.   January 18th is the "White Out" game the first 350 fans in attendance will receive a free PSU DuBois Athletics          t-shirt – the PSU DuBois ladies game starts at 6pm.
