Penn State DuBois defeat Alumni in basketball scrimmage

Nov. 12, 2012

The first home contest for the Penn State DuBois men's basketball squad was a scrimmage against their alumni in the 1st Annual Alumni game.  It was a great atmosphere to start the season as Chancellor Anita McDonald presented the members of the 2011-12 PSUAC Championship team with rings to team members and coaches prior to tip-off.  The 2012-13 PSUD Nittany Lions defeated the Alumni 109-62.

The game started off with the Alumni jumping out to an 8-2 lead in the first four minutes, but the young Nittany Lions went on a 21 point run with long range shots falling from Darrian Brown, Salim Wyche, and Isaiah Jordan.  With the alumni shooting going cold the current Nittany Lions finished the first half shooting 67% from the floor including 69% from 3 point land. The half time score was 63-27 in favor of the 2012-13 Nittany Lion squad

Leading scorer was Darrian Brown with 26 points, 10-14 shooting including 4-4 on 3 point attempts. Other scores in double figures were Isaiah Jordan with 20, Salim Wyche 14, and Kashawn McLaughlin with 10 points.  Overall Coach Bennett was very pleased with the defense play, the shot selection and the flow of the offense.

Both Penn State DuBois Women & Men will start their official season with a home double header on Wednesday, Nov. 14th when the host Pitt-Titusville.  The women start at 6pm followed by the men at 8.
