Penn State DuBois Men bounce back with win over Fayette

PSU DuBois Bounces Back

Penn State DuBois Men's Basketball team was at it again Thursday night, playing a much improved Penn State Fayette squad. The winner of this game would take over the second place spot in the PSUAC. Again in this game DuBois would face a full court press. This time they were able to break it for scores. The first half was an offensive shootout. PSUD dominated down low in the post while Fayette relied on outside shots. Fayette shot it well, but not well enough. The inside presence of Chris Dickison was too much to handle. The big man for DuBois played one of his best games of the season scoring an astounding 36 points and pulling down 8 rebounds. He was a total of 17-21 from the field shooting roughly 81 percent. Jovan Brown also had himself a game scoring 19 points but also dishing out 7 assists. Jovan also shot a high percentage ending the game 8-10 from the field.

The entire game was a back and forth affair between these two teams. Late in the second half turnovers started to plague the Fayette team. Due to the heavy full court man to man pressure DuBois was able to wear down their opposition and take control forcing turnover after turnover which lead to easy buckets. At the end of the first half it was only a two point game (45-43) in favor of PSU DuBois. The stingy, stifling defense held Fayette to only 29 points in the second half. DuBois came out on top 85-72. The game was won on the defensive side of the ball in the second half, and the dominating play of the DuBois big guys once again.

This win brings Penn State DuBois record overall to 14-6, and 9-3 in the PSUAC. Also this win gives DuBois control of second place in the PSUAC. Your DuBois Lions play this Saturday, February 4th taking on Penn College in their next game at 3 p.m.
