PSU DuBois battle to 78-65 win over Greater Allegheny

Penn State DuBois Men's Basketball battles for 78-65 win

Wednesday night PSUD Men's Basketball met with the Penn State team from Greater Allegheny. Coming off tough weekend road games Penn State DuBois looked to strengthen their record in the PSUAC. Overall the game was a tough, physical, defensive battle that DuBois used to their advantage. All three big guys for DuBois played exceptional games, two finishing the night with double doubles. John Hau was an energy man on the glass snatching 13 rebounds, Chris Dickison finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds, Will Welles was an animal scoring 17 points and grabbing 14 rebounds for the Lions, Jovan Brown chimed in with 13 points, and Kai Ahmad stole the show at the end with his best game of his young career scoring 14 points and handing out 7 assists.

Penn State DuBois struggled for points early on trailing 28-24 at the half.   DuBois attempted good shots and were getting good looks on offense but just were not able to convert. That changed quickly in the second half. DuBois stuck to the game plan feeding the ball inside scoring easy baskets and going to the free throw line.  Late in the game defensive pressure became too much for the Greater Allegheny team.  DuBois forced several big turnovers that converted into layups to put them on a run that would be insurmountable.  This was a well-rounded effort by DuBois as they came out victorious 78-65.  The win brings the Men's team record to 12-5 overall and 7-2 in the PSUAC.  Penn State DuBois will be back in action Saturday at home playing a tough Penn State New Kensington team at 3 p.m.
