Clash of The Lions

Monaca, PA- The Men's Basketball Team of Penn State DuBois (3-2, 1-0 PSUAC) played their first PSUAC game of the season against PSUAC rival PS Beaver.  The game was a fast paced contest with Beaver getting an early 10-2 lead, but DuBois responded after an early time-out by Coach Dave Bennett and took control of the remainder of the first half.  DuBois was led by aggressive guard play of freshman, Kia Ahmand who slashed the defense for points in the paint and passed off to post players in deep on the basket.  DuBois went into the half with a 33-28 lead.

The second half was seen with DuBois continuing to play aggressive. The lead for much of the half was as high as 7 points. However, with less than two minutes left, tough defense and turnovers brought Beaver to within five.  Late fouls kept DuBois with the lead but with under a minute left to play; Beaver's guard had an aggressive layup drawing a foul sending him to the free throw line for a three point play opportunity. Fortunately, Miller missed the free throw, and DuBois left town with a 62-59 win.

PS DuBois will be back home on the weekend for Friday night & Saturday PSUAC contest with Schuylkill and Brandywine, Friday night's games starts at 8 with Saturday's contest slated for a 3pm start.
