Men defeat highly ranked Wilkes-Barre at home

Men and Women's Basketball take pair from Wilkes Barre

The Penn State DuBois Men's Basketball team triumphed over Penn State Wilkes-Barre who entered the game ranked #5 in the nation (USCAA). DuBois used stifling defense and solid rebounding to take a 39-23 halftime lead. Wilkes-Barre battled back to take a 64-61 lead with 5 minutes remaining in the game. PSUD then regained their composure and won the game by a score of 76-69.

 DuBois was led by Josh Salter (Elk County Catholic, St. Marys) with 26 points. Will Welles (Simon Gratz, Philadelphia) chipped in with 19 points, and Mark Shannon (Brockway) recorded his first double-double for the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

 Penn State DuBois returns to action on Friday, January 21st when they battle Penn State Greater Allegheny in a home PSUAC contest at 7pm. DuBois also plays at home on Saturday, January 22nd against Penn State Hazleton.
