Basketball teams sweep final games of the semester

Penn State DuBois Women's basketball heads into the semester break with a 7-7 record after defeating Central Pennsylvania College 79-53 on Saturday afternoon.  Leading the scoring for DuBois were Kelsey Rini 22 points and Tessa Vargas 15 points.  The Lady Lions will be back in action on January 15th when they resume PSUAC play against PSU Wilkes Barre at 1pm. 

The Penn State DuBois Men's Basketball team had an impressive 86-72 win over a very talented Jamestown Community College team to push their record to 5-5 Overall (2-2 PSUAC).  Penn State used hot shooting and stifling defense to jump out to a 49-27 halftime lead.  Mark Shannon (Brockway) sparked the Nittany Lions with 3 first half 3-pointers.  JCC fought back with outstanding perimeter shooting and pressure defense to cut the lead to 8 mid way through the second half.  PSUD closed out the game with defense can strong rebounding.  William Welles had a monster game with 25 points and 6 rebounds.  Josh Salter contributed 22 points and Justin Alvarez had a solid all-around game with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. 

 Penn State DuBois returns to action on January 3rd and 4th when they travel to the Lycoming Holiday Tournament.
