Men's Basketball drops game to Jamestown CC

The Penn State DuBois Men's Basketball team lost a tough road game at Jamestown Community College by a score of 60-58.

The first half see-sawed back and forth, but the Jayhawks went into the locker room with a slim, three-point lead at 37-34. The second half saw stingey defense by both teams. Jamestown CC built a 50-41 lead early in the 2nd half, but Penn State DuBois picked up the defense and held the Jayhawks scoreless for more than 8 minutes of play. Late in the game Penn State DuBois took a 58-57 lead, until JCC made a shot to go ahead by 1. After a missed shot, Penn State DuBois was forced to foul and Jamestown made 1 out of 2 foul shots to push the lead to 60-58. Penn State DuBois had a 3-point shot attempt to win at the buzzer, but it was off the mark.

Josh Salter (Elk County Catholic, St. Marys) let the Nittany Lions with 25 points. Jovan Brown (Sayre, Philadelphia) pulled down 9 rebounds in the losing cause.

Penn State DuBois returns to action on Saturday, January 15th for a crutial home conference game against Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Penn State Wilkes-Barre is ranked #5 in the nation (USCAA). The men's game tips-off at 3pm at the Multi-Purpose Building Gymnasium on the campus of Penn State DuBois.
