 Tom Calliari

  Calliari has coached at every collegiate level, after playing college baseball at DII Lock Haven University.  He starting his coaching career in 1996 as an assistant at DI Penn State University where his responsibilities included hitters/infielders and gameday promotions.  Penn State went on to win it's first and only BIG Ten Championship that year.  Calliari then moved to Cleveland, Ohio to work at the Northern Ohio baseball club where he became an instructor at the Baseball School in Strongsville,Ohio. Coach Calliari spent the 1998 season at DIII Greensboro College in Greensboro, NC where his responsibilites included recruiting, infielders, hitting, and first base coach.  Greensboro won it's first and only Dixie Conference Championship and was awarded an NCAA South Regional birth in his only year at Greensboro College.  

   During the summers from 1997 thru 2002 Coach Calliari helped establish with other local franchise members the Allegheny Mountain AAABA/NABF collegiate league, where he was the manager of the Keystone Baseball Academy. This wooden bat collegiate summer organization was made up of college baseball players from across the state of Pennsylvania. In his 6 years, the Keystone Baseball Academy won 6 consecutive AAABA/NABF league championships, 5 World Series appearences, 2 Eastern Regional Titles and finished as Runner-Up at the 2001 NABF World Series in Dayton, Ohio. Keystone 6 year record was a combined 157-59. In his long coaching career he has been fortunate to coach many players who were drafted by Major League Baseball. That list includes Nate Bump (Florida Marlins) at Penn State University and Joe Beimel (Pirates) for Keystone AAABA tourney. In Addition, he coached a 16U team from PA that participated in the Junior Olympic National tournament where his team placed 8th out of 80 teams. After the 1997 season he was awarded the USA Baseball Pennsylvania Amatuer Coach of the Year.  

   He was the co-director of the Triple Play Baseball Camp held for 6 years at the DuBois Little League facility.  He most recently coached an amatuer travel team sponsored by BWP Bats for 4 seasons.  His team had a record of 125-48-1 while also winning the prestigous Buckeye Classic in Columbus,Ohio (60 teams) and placed 6th at the USA Baseball Nationals in Richmond, VA. Finally, He has been a camp intructor at Penn State University, Greensboro, Clarion, IUP, Lock Haven, and Western Michigan.  

   In his first 4 years with the baseball program PSD Baseball won 4 regular season titles, 2 Conference tournament titles, and back to back USCAA National Championships. His 4 year record starting from scratch is 110-51. Coach Tom Calliari has received  "Coach of the Year" award 4 straight season from the PSUAC.  Also, 30 players have been named to the PSUAC Academic All-Conference, 8 players named PSUAC All-Conference.  Brandon Gettig was named USCAA "Athlete of the Year" and 15  have been named USCAA All Americans.

   In 2020-21 Coach Calliari led PSU DuBois to their 3rd straight PSUAC Championship title, and a 3rd straight USCAA World Series Championship title.  Calliari's overall record has improved to 142-63 overall, and a 76-13 conference record.  Along with several of his athletes being named to All-American, Academic All-American, and even the 2021 USCAA National Student Athlete of the Year, Coach Calliari was named the USCAA National Coach of the Year.  

   Tom (47) resides with his wife Stacia, and two daughters Emily and Peyton in Brockway, PA.
