30-0 Blowout

30-0 Blowout

A historic evening came at the hands of Penn State DuBois baseball tonight as they put up 30 runs.  Visiting Butler County Community College was the unfortunate foe that the Nittany Lions put this uncanny beating to.

After 3 innings the Nittany Lions led only 7-0, but the bottom of the 4th proved to be something of amazement to the spectators at Showers Field.  DuBois scored 23 times as Butler County would go through 3 different pitchers in the inning trying to figure a way to stop the Nittany Lions bats.  Butler County had only 2 errors on the night.  DuBois just hit everything in the right places on this night, as they would end the game with 21 hits.

Brandon Orsich (Clearfield) earned the win for DuBois, but also would give up the only hit of the night for Butler County.  Logan Johnson (Penns Valley), Bryce Hanley (Central Mountain), and Thomas Plummer (Clarion) would all throw no-hit innings to shut Butler County out in 5 innings.

Lucas Burkett (Punxsutawney) and Isaac Stouffer (Punxsutawney) would lead the way with RBI's as they would drive in 10 runs on 7 hits between the two of them.  Stouffer also hit the only home run of the night that drove in the game's first 2 runs.  Other RBI's included; Brandon Gettig , Jackson Frank (2) , John White (3) , Jonathan Thomas (2) , Isaac Stouffer (4) , Jesse Martin , Shane Haberberger (2) , Trevor Hanna (3) , Lance Pennington (2) , Colton Treaster, Kyle Gill (3) , Lucas Burkett (6)

Penn State DuBois will be back in action on the road this Saturday as they play their first PSUAC doubleheader of the season before coming home on Sunday for a 1:00pm start against PSU New Kensington.
